About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chef to join our supermarket team within the Deli and Home Meal Replacement (HMR) departments. This role is critical in ensuring the consistent preparation of high-quality meals, accurate production documentation, and effective stock control to support daily operations across stores.
Key Responsibilities
- Meal Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook meals in line with company recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency across all batches.
- Pre-Production Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain pre-production records to support planning, cost control, and compliance.
- Meal Dispatch Coordination: Oversee the preparation and dispatch of meals to various branches, ensuring correct quantities and timely delivery.
- Packaging Management: Receive, manage, and monitor packaging materials required for daily operations.
- Stock Control: Conduct weekly stock takes and assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels to minimise variances and wastage.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a chef or food preparation role, preferably within a supermarket deli or similar environment.
- Strong ability to prepare Indian cuisine is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to food quality standards.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
Pay: R1,00 per month
