R6000 PER MONTH
- 65 % will be driving
- 5% packing and packaging parts for delivery
- 30 % helping in workshop, cleaning, helping with general work
MUST HAVE:
- Valid SA drivers License & Code B, light motor vehicle
- Must be based near Montague Gardens/Milnerton/Tableview
- Must have previous driving experience
Purpose of the Position
The Driver / General Workshop Assistant is responsible for the safe transportation of company goods, materials, and equipment while also providing support to workshop operations. When not engaged in driving duties, the employee will assist with cleaning, handling, stripping, and assembly of hydraulic components under supervision, as well as maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Driving Duties
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Collect and deliver hydraulic components, materials, and equipment to customers, suppliers, and service providers.
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed accurately and on time.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure vehicles are roadworthy at all times.
- Assist with loading and unloading of components and equipment.
- Complete delivery notes and other transport-related documentation as required.
Workshop Duties
- Clean hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, manifolds, and other hydraulic components.
- Assist fitters and technicians with stripping hydraulic equipment for inspection and repair.
- Assist with assembly and reassembly of hydraulic components under direct supervision.
- Prepare components for painting, testing, and dispatch.
- Assist with workshop housekeeping and cleanliness.
- Handle tools, materials, and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Assist with stock movement and storage within the workshop.
- Follow all company quality and safety procedures.
General Duties
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude when representing the company.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Assist with any other reasonable duties required by management.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid South African Driver's Licence (Code B minimum).
- Previous driving experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work safely in a workshop environment.
- Physically fit and capable of handling workshop duties.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Preferred Requirements
- Previous experience in a hydraulic, engineering, mechanical, or industrial workshop.
- Forklift licence (advantageous).
- Knowledge of hydraulic components and equipment (advantageous).
