Requirements
- Grade 12 /senior certificate
- 5 years practical experience in a Fleet Risk Control or similar
environment
- K53 Examiners for Drivers Licence Diploma, grade A issued
by the Provincial or City of Cape Town Traffic College
- Assessor course is preferred
- In depth knowledge of the Road Traffic Act and Health and
Safety Act
- Unendorsed Code EC with Professional Driving Permit (PrDp)
and Code A driver’s licence
- An Examiners of Vehicles Certificate will be an advantage
- Computer literacy including PowerPoint ( Able to compile and
conduct vehicle/Plant safety preservations
- Physically fit and able-bodied
- Proficiency in at least two of the official languages (Afrikaans/
English/ IsiXhosa)
Key Performance Areas
- Provide a comprehensive Fleet Risk Control service to the
organisation
- Conduct specialized incident investigations and provide
management with findings and recommendations
- Conduct informal and schedule inspections and ensure
compliance with the Road Traffic Act
- Monitor the use and maintenance of plant equipment and
vehicles, and report to management on findings and
observations
- Conduct compliance checks and audits in line with the
Road Traffic Act and Fleet Risk Control programme and
report non-compliance
- Assessing of vehicle and plant operators to determine their
driving competency (Council Driving Authority) in order to
drive/operate City vehicles and plant.
- Assist line management with the pre-employment evaluations
(vehicle driving assessments) of staff
- Complete and issue driving assessment reports and guideline
management on appropriate action to be taken where
drivers/operators are found to be not yet competent to drive
