Description:
As a Relief Travel Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the seamless operation of our client's travel consulting team. This position involves stepping in to manage the desks of consultants who are on leave, ensuring a consistent, high-quality service for guests and agents. You will also assist in creating and developing agent educational bookings, brochure quotes, and proposals, while working closely with the sales team to ensure that all travel arrangements are executed flawlessly.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee consultant desks during leave periods (sick, annual, or educational), managing requotes and ongoing proposals.

Assist in developing and managing agent educational bookings and hosted trips, working closely with the sales team.

Participate in the implementation and testing of new systems and procedures.

Follow up on provisional bookings and any dormant leads.

Assist with loading bookings during peak periods.

Creatively plan and design itineraries that align with client needs and expectations.

Maintain clear and consistent communication with agents, sales teams, preferred suppliers, and colleagues.

Participate in rotational emergency duty and work on early and late shifts as scheduled.

Approach each task with a calm, professional, and proactive attitude, ensuring exceptional service for agents and guests.
Requirements:
Knowledge Required:

A passion for delivering service excellence.

An in-depth knowledge of Tourplan and Microsoft Office systems is advantageous.

Good knowledge of Southern and East Africa, as well as the South African tourism landscape.

A willingness to learn and assist in all areas of the role.
Skills Required:

Strong understanding of product knowledge, third-party partnerships, and the client's destination offerings.

Familiarity with the travel industry and market channels in which the client operates.

Proficiency in computer systems, including Tourplan (advantageous), MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and WETU.

Previous Work Experience Required:
