Supreme Processing has an opportunity available for an Inventory Controller in the Factory Shop department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective stock control within the factory shop, including stock replenishment, merchandising, product presentation, expiry date monitoring, housekeeping, and maintaining accurate daily stock balances. This role requires a reliable, accurate, and customer-focused individual who can support the smooth day-to-day operations of the factory shop while ensuring that all products are handled and displayed according to quality, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Grade 12
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar stock control, retail, dispatch, warehouse, or factory shop environment.
- Experience working with food products, cold storage rooms, merchandising, or product displays will be advantageous.
- Basic understanding of stock control processes and product rotation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and administrative skills.
- Monitor factory shop stock levels throughout the day to ensure sufficient product availability for customers.
- Transfer stock from storage areas and cold rooms to the factory shop as required.
- Replenish shelves, fridges, freezers, and display areas timeously to avoid stock shortages.
- Conduct daily stock balance checks and report any shortages, variances, damages, or discrepancies to the Supervisor.
- Assist with stock rotation to ensure that older stock is sold first and wastage is minimised.
- Ensure stock is packed and stored in an organised manner to allow easy access, traceability, and efficient replenishment.
- Ensure that all products displayed for sale are clean, neat, presentable, correctly packed, and suitable for customers.
- Check that all products placed on displays meet the required quality and presentation standards.
- Ensure that all display areas are used effectively and maintained in a clean and attractive condition throughout the day.
- Remove damaged, expired, incorrectly labelled, or poor-quality products from the selling area and report concerns immediately.
- Maintain neat and customer-friendly product displays to support sales and improve product visibility.
- Merchandise stock according to factory shop requirements and ensure products are easily accessible to customers.
- Assist with arranging products in a way that supports sales, product visibility, and operational efficiency.
- Check displays regularly during the day and refill products where necessary.
- Support the factory shop team during busy trading periods.
- Check sell-by dates and expiry dates of displayed stock daily.
- Ensure that products are handled and displayed in line with food safety, hygiene, and quality requirements.
- Monitor stock from cold storage areas and ensure that cold chain requirements are maintained where applicable.
- Report any expired stock, temperature concerns, damaged packaging, or food safety risks to the Supervisor.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in the factory shop, storage areas, and display sections.
- Ensure that shelves, display areas, fridges, freezers, and surrounding work areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Keep walkways and work areas free from hazards to ensure a safe environment for employees and customers.
- Follow company safety procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Conduct regular checks during the day to ensure that the factory shop remains clean, organised, and presentable.
- Communicate stock shortages, damages, expiry concerns, replenishment needs, and discrepancies to the relevant Supervisor.
