Spriggabyte is a small Cape Town web development agency building and maintaining websites for UK and international clients - including enterprise names in finance and professional services. We’re taking on one intern to train up properly.
What you’ll learn
Real commercial development from day one: PHP, Drupal, WordPress and Laravel, Git, Docker, staging environments, and how professional sites are built, deployed and looked after. You’ll work directly with the senior developer who owns the company - no layers, real code, real clients.
What we’re looking for
We care about attitude far more than your CV. You should be:
- Genuinely curious - you’ve built, broken or tinkered with something on your own time
- Comfortable being stuck and figuring things out (and honest about when you need help)
- Reliable and communicative - you say what you’re doing and do what you say
- Have basic exposure to HTML/CSS and some programming (any language - we’ll teach the rest)
No degree required. Bootcamp grads, self-taught developers and students all welcome.
Details
- Paid internship, 6 month fixed term with the goal of a permanent junior role for the right person
- Remote
- Start: TBC
How to apply
Don’t send a cover letter. Instead, answer these three things in your application (a few sentences each):
1. Why development?
2. Tell us about something you’ve built, fixed or broken - anything counts, even a WordPress blog or a game mod.
3. Describe a time you were completely stuck on a problem. What did you do?
Applications that ignore these questions won’t be considered.
Pay: R6 000,00 - R12 000,00 per month
