Our client based in Stellenbosch is looking for a hard-working saw operator to join their positive and loyal team.
Requirements:
- Matric, relevant qualification advantageous
- Minimum 7 years experience operating panel saw machines or similar equipment required
- Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is beneficial
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot panel saw machines
- Proficiency in using measurement tools and understanding technical drawings
- Strong focus on accuracy and quality in cutting tasks
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in a manufacturing setting
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to address and resolve operational issues efficiently
- Collaborative attitude and effective communication with team members
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate panel saw machines to cut panels according to specified measurements and tolerances.
- Set up and adjust machine settings for different cutting tasks.
- Monitor the machine during operation to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
- Load and unload materials onto the machine.
- Ensure that materials are properly aligned and secured before cutting.
- Handle and store cut panels safely to prevent damage.
- Inspect cut panels for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet project specifications and standards.
- Adjust as needed to correct any discrepancies or defects.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the panel saw machine.
- Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of cutting tasks, including materials used and quantities produced.
- Report production metrics and any issues encountered to supervisors.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding job progress and any issues.
