Forest Edge Preschools is a growing group of high-quality preschools in Cape Town. We aim to create preschool environments that are warm, fun-loving, and professional – where children feel safe and happy, parents feel supported, and staff feel proud of where they work. We're growing rapidly and our Educare House branch is looking to fill two roles.
Role 1: Assistant Preschool Teacher (1–2 year old class)
Key elements of the role:
- Support the teacher with the care, management and education of children in the class, ensuring they feel loved, supported and happy, and are developing appropriately
- Support the teacher with the management of the classroom, keeping it clean and organised with good systems in place for nappies etc.
- Support the teacher with communication with parents, maintaining strong, positive relationships in line with the school's communication guidelines
- Have fun and play with the children during free play
Position details: Monday to Friday, 7:30 – 16:30, 5-month contract, October 2026 to February 2027 with potential extension (maternity post)
Role 2: Aftercare Assistant Teacher (part-time)
Key elements of the role:
- Assist with looking after and playing with the older preschool children and Grade R–3 learners during aftercare, including free play, homework time, and structured activities
- Support clear, friendly, and professional communication with parents, in line with the school's communication guidelines
- Help maintain a calm, organised, and welcoming aftercare environment
Position details: Monday to Friday, Hours: 12:00-17:00, Long-term contract

Note: Due to the nature of our work with young children and our commitment to providing a healthy and professional learning environment, we are only considering non-smokers for these positions.
