JOB PURPOSE:
To oversee the supply chain processes from the manufacturing stage through to storage and product order dispatch/transportation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Plan, direct, or coordinate the transportation, storage, or distribution of Afrikelp products
· Provide administrative and operational support to the Operations Manager as and when needed
· Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce inefficiencies.
· Capture and manage orders on ERP system timeously
· Develop forecasting plans to maintain enough inventory
· Verify goods reach their destination in a timely manner
· Establish priorities, track assignments, and ensure availability of resources
· Maintain schedules and deadlines
· Comply with production standards and shipping regulations
· Work with loading and warehouse personnel to ensure shipments and cost targets are met
· Work with production personnel to verify materials needed to match production schedule
· Coordinate with production and commercial team to promote accurate and timely processing of orders for customers
· Provide assistance for maintaining logistics planning tasks
· Support various import / export compliance audits
· Work closely with operations teams to keep the shipment schedule updated along with Customer expectations and operational needs
· Processing all documentation on time
· Maintain and distribute Trading Partner Routing and Compliance Guidelines
· Provide assistance in developing new innovations to the supply chain compliance chargeback investigation and appeals process
· Interfacing with the Distributors/customers to reduce or eliminate chargebacks
· Identify and report, by Trading Partner, the compliance guidelines that do not result in a financial penalty but when positively acted upon will result in an improvement in customer service
· Address customer service issues from a supply chain compliance perspective
· Track and report on both inbound and outbound shipments
· Meet with prospective carriers to see if cost reduction opportunities exist
· Process of productions in the accounting system
· Reconciling consignment stock at client
· Custodian of shipments leaving
· Generation of purchase orders
· Perform any other adhoc duties as and when required.
· Understanding of Inco Terms
· Experience in global shipment via different transporting modes (Sea, Air and Road)
· Phytosanitary application experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Business (preferred)
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
· Proficiency in SAGE Evolution
· Working knowledge of cargo management software is preferred
· 3+ years previous experience in logistics management or coordination
· Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills
· Strong decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work without supervision
