Harry’s Beach is an exciting new restaurant opening in Camps Bay, part of Sweetheart of the Rodeo, a restaurant group that includes our sister restaurants Grand Pavilion, Sevruga, and Fancy Franks. We are known for delivering exceptional beachside dining experiences, combining high-quality food, ambience, and service. We’re seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant General Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our new venture, while consistently delivering memorable guest experiences.
Job Overview:
The Restaurant General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant’s operations, ensuring efficient service, high standards, and profitability. This role involves managing staff, finances, customer relations, and daily operations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the hospitality industry, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions.

Lead, train, and develop staff to ensure high performance and a positive work environment.

Manage scheduling, staffing levels, and labour costs to ensure efficient operations.

Maintain high standards of food quality, service, and cleanliness.

Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and promptly.

Monitor and manage financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and profit margins.

Collaborate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth communication and timely service.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Implement marketing and promotional strategies to drive business growth.

Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels.

Foster a positive relationship with customers, suppliers, and the local community.
Qualifications:

Proven experience in a General Manager or senior management role within the hospitality industry.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost control.

Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick decisions.

Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant management software.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
