Apartment Hotel in Midrand is looking for an experienced, well-organized, attention to detail and admin orientated Accountant.
Duties, Responsibilities, And Requirements (not limited to)
- The overall management of the accounting function and responsible for the financials
- To produce monthly Management Accounts and to ensure that these are accurately and timeously produced.
- To review the month end pack/balance sheet and ensure that all reconciliation items are followed up.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Preparing profit and loss accounts and the balance sheet for MD
- Create financial forecasts and assist in achieving budget targets.
- Monitor, control expenditure and income
- Reconciling bank statements
- Prepare and submit tax returns accurately and on time.
- Ensure Vat is worked out correctly and paid timeously.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the Companies assets.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures by working closely with the Auditing firm.
- Monitor and reconcile bank statements regularly.
- Handle payroll processes, including calculating wages, taxes, and other deductions.
- Send monthly payslips to Staff and conduct IRP’5’s when required.
- 5 or more years of proven experience as an Accountant within the hospitality industry will be advantageous.
- Computer literacy. With experience in Sage Pastel Evolution Accounting software package
- Bachelor’s degree will be an advantage
- Good administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
- Current knowledge of industry trends and regulations.
- High level of numeracy skills, disciplined, attention to detail, will be essential.
- Excellent communication skills verbally and written, in English.
