About the Role
Are you an energetic, numbers-driven retail leader looking for a unique management role in a premium, specialized sector?
We are a growing, high-end veterinary retail store located in the heart of Bryanston. We are seeking a highly motivated, target-driven Store Manager to take full operational and commercial ownership of our branch.
You will not be working in isolation; you will join a collaborative and structured management team. While our bustling grooming division is fully run by two competent managers, you will spearhead the retail division alongside a capable, dedicated assistant. This allows you to step away from minor administrative burdens and focus heavily on what matters most: leading from the floor, driving daily sales, and engaging directly with our upmarket community.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Sales & Growth: Lead from the front on the retail floor, hitting monthly branch targets, and actively converting foot traffic into high-value sales.
- Premium Client Relations: Deliver high-touch, empathetic, and sophisticated service tailored to our discerning, upmarket clientele.
- Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with the grooming management team to ensure cohesive branch operations, shared standards, and cross-divisional customer care.
- Retail Team Management: Manage, mentor, and work hands-on alongside your capable retail assistant to maintain a high-performance environment.
- Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor stock levels, handle supplier ordering, prevent shrinkage, and ensure premium veterinary diets and top-tier pet products are meticulously merchandised
Requirements and Skills
- Retail Management Experience (Essential): Minimum of 2–3 years of proven experience running a retail store floor as a Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Strong Selling Skills (Essential): A natural, persuasive sales professional with a track record of driving turnover and hitting growth KPIs.
- Hands-on Approach: A leader who loves being active on the floor, building relationships with customers, and keeping the store looking immaculate.
- Industry Experience (Distinct Advantage): Prior experience in a veterinary retail store, vet practice, or premium pet care environment is highly beneficial.
- Communication: Exceptional, polished communication and interpersonal skills suitable for an upmarket retail environment.
