Afrimart Online is a growing e-commerce business committed to providing customers with quality products and excellent service. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Accounts Assistant to join our finance team.
Job Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their accounting career. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, maintain accurate financial records, and support the finance department in ensuring smooth business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing and Submission of VAT Returns
Processing Payroll and Submission of EMP201 and EMP501 Reconciliation
CIPC, Workman's Compensation and other Statutory Submissions
Capture and process financial transactions accurately.
Preparing management accounts and assisting with audits.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts.
Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
Maintain organized financial records and filing systems.
Assist with monthly financial reports.
Support stock and inventory reconciliations where required.
Perform general administrative duties within the finance department.
Maintain Asset Register
Managing Relationships with Key Stakeholders such as Bankers, Auditors and Regulatory Institutions
Minimum Requirements:
Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
2-3 years of accounting experience (graduates are encouraged to apply).
Good understanding of accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with accounting software (such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) is an advantage.
Willingness to learn and grow within the company.
