We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical, and qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) to manage core financial accounting, statutory compliance, reporting, and management accounting processes.
Operating from our Roodepoort offices, you will play a key role in maintaining robust financial controls, managing month-end closures, preparing annual financial statements, and driving accurate financial reporting to support key decision-making.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Management Accounts:
1. Oversee general ledger functions, execute month-end and year-end closing processes, and prepare monthly management packs with variance analyses.
2. Statutory Compliance & Tax: Manage all SARS compliance functions including VAT, PAYE, Provisional Tax, and Income Tax returns, ensuring alignment with relevant regulatory frameworks.
3. Audit & Financial Statements: Lead the annual external audit process, compile compliant Annual Financial Statements (AFS) under IFRS / IFRS for SMEs, and address audit queries efficiently.
4. Cash Flow & Budgeting: Monitor cash flow forecasts, working capital, operational expenditure, and assist leadership with annual budgeting and forecasting models.
5. Internal Controls & Governance: Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations, and risk mitigation strategies across operational accounts.
Minimum Requirements Qualification:
1. Qualified CA(SA) registered with SAICA (Non-negotiable).
2. Education: BCom Accounting Honours / CTA / PGDA from a SAICA-accredited university. Articles: Successfully completed 3-year SAICA training contract (Audit firm background preferred).
3. Experience: 0 to 3+ experience in commercial financial management, reporting, or senior auditing roles. Software: High proficiency in ERP accounting platforms (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Location:
Must reside within or be able to reliably commute to Roodepoort, Johannesburg.
Key Competencies Strong technical knowledge of IFRS / IFRS for SMEs and South African tax law.
