Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all housekeeping operations onboard.
- Manage Housekeeping Managers, Assistant Housekeeping Managers, Supervisors, Cabin Stewards, Public Area teams, and Laundry personnel.
- Ensure guest cabins, suites, public spaces, and crew accommodations meet the cruise line's cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Develop work schedules and allocate staffing efficiently.
- Manage departmental budgets, inventory, purchasing, and cost control.
- Maintain linen, towel, uniform, and guest amenity inventories.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, environmental, and safety regulations, including public health standards.
- Investigate and resolve guest complaints related to housekeeping.
- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate housekeeping staff.
- Coordinate with the Front Office, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service.
- Prepare reports on department performance, quality audits, and operational metrics.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years of housekeeping experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or cruise ships.
- Several years in a housekeeping management role, often including experience as a Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
- Strong leadership, budgeting, and operational management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of housekeeping procedures, inventory control, and sanitation standards.
- Good English communication skills; additional languages are often an advantage.
- Proficiency with hotel or cruise property management systems.
- Ability to work contracts of approximately 4–6 months, depending on the cruise line.
Pay: R20 000,00 - R32 000,00 per month
