Our client is looking for a skilled and hands-on Irrigation Technician to join our growing team in Brackenfell. If you have a passion for water systems, practical problem-solving, and delivering top-notch service to clients, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do
Check and load daily equipment/materials, then travel to client sites
Plan where the irrigation system needs to be installed
Plan layouts, dig trenches, lay pipes, and set up advanced irrigation systems, pumps, timers, and controllers
Install water tanks, greywater systems, and wellpoints to draw water from the ground
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues quickly, and replace faulty parts to ensure everything runs smoothly
Thoroughly test all systems to guarantee peak performance before job completion
Set up commercial and residential irrigation systems, including smart controllers, drip systems, and backflow preventers
Diagnose complex system issues, fix line leaks, replace faulty valves, adjust head layouts, and repair wiring
Perform routine seasonal start-ups, winterizations (blow-outs), and water-efficiency upgrades
Communicate clearly with property owners and managers, offering professional advice on water conservation and system maintenance
Install water tanks and pumps.
Install greywater systems.
Install wellpoints to draw water from the ground.
Education:
Grade 12
Minimum 2 – 4 years’ experience within this environment
A valid driver’s license
Skills:
Proven experience in irrigation, pumps, and water systems
A hands-on, detail-oriented approach with strong troubleshooting skills
