We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Welding Quality Controller (QC) to join our team based in the Kuils River Industrial Area, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all welding activities comply with applicable quality standards, project specifications, and inspection requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- PT (Penetrant Testing) Level 1 Certification
- VT (Visual Testing) Level 1 Certification
- Experience in welding quality control and inspection
- Ability to read and interpret welding drawings, WPSs, and applicable codes and standards
- Strong attention to detail and excellent reporting skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections of welds and welding activities.
- Conduct PT inspections in accordance with approved procedures.
- Verify compliance with project specifications, welding procedures, and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
- Identify and report non-conformances and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Liaise with production personnel to ensure quality requirements are achieved.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the fabrication, construction, or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of ISO quality management systems and relevant welding codes.
