THE JOB AT A GLANCE
Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) the successful candidate will promote RMA’s brand and reputation as well as ensuring that the organization’s strategic direction (creating a business of significance) and actions are clear, consistent, and accurately represent the organization’s ethos. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Corporate Services as well as nurturing and growing the client portfolio while fostering a consistent, exceptional client experience. Furthermore, the incumbent will be responsible for initiating and cultivating mutually beneficial relationships for RMA across the private and public sector by positioning RMA externally as a caring, compassionate, social insurance company across the critical stakeholders.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Oversee and Lead the Corporate and Stakeholder Affairs and Transformation Function
- Lead the development and implementation of an integrated stakeholder engagement and marketing (brand and reputation management) strategy, plan and programmes that would enhance stakeholder relationships and understanding of RMA through key events and business initiatives
- Ensure the development, maintenance, protection and enhancement of the overall reputation and corporate image of the organisation through various Public Relations strategies

- Identify key strategic, social, political and societal issues impacting on corporate affairs and ensure that plans are put into in actionLead and manage RMA’s protocol management framework relating to internal and external stakeholders such as corporate communications, government relations, public affairs, stakeholder engagement and community relations
Oversee and Lead the Marketing Function
- Oversee the management and provision of professional marketing services to position and promote the RMA brand and identity, ensuring marketing contributes to the strategic direction of RMA and successful stakeholder relationship development and management
- Ensure that there are well-executed communications and thought-leadership campaigns with RMA’s marketing team to present clear and successful communications, either for personal on-to-one outreach or larger scale marketing efforts
- Oversee and monitor the implementation of communications to keep internal and external stakeholders informed of RMA products, services, developments, initiatives and activities
Provide Functional Leadership
- Align the performance of the Corporate Services departments to the overall strategic objectives of the RMA
- Oversee the development, delivery and maintenance of the Corporate Services Strategy
- Provide strategic leadership within Corporate Services departments (Marketing, Strategy and Analytics, New Business Development and Corporate and Stakeholder Affairs and Transformation)
- Undertake and monitor the corporate services risk management, the provisions of marketing services, strategy and analytics services, new business development and corporate and stakeholder affairs and transformation
What You’ll Bring to the Table
- Knowledge of business policies, processes and procedures, legal compliance
- NQF Level 9 qualification: Master’s degree in related field (business preferred)
- 10 years’ experience in strategy and analytics in a senior management position
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in public sector relationship management
- A results driven strategic thinker with a proven record of providing leadership
- Experience within an insurance environment will be an advantage
- Strong strategic capability (development and execution) and leadership
- Sound programme and project management skills
- Knowledge and skills in Financial Management
- The ability to lead and empower teams
- Capacity to build and leverage extensive external networks
- Development, cascading and monitoring and reviewing of organizational strategy
