We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager at our esteemed 5-star Boutique Hotel and Apartments.
We seek a dynamic, enthusiastic, and passionate individual eager to gain invaluable experience in the hospitality industry. This position is ideal for young professionals embarking on their careers in hospitality. As part of the German hotel group, Living Hotels, there is a potential for future transfers to a hotel in Germany, although this is not guaranteed. Nonetheless, it is a goal that can be actively pursued.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following essential criteria. Applications from individuals who do not meet all of these minimum requirements will not be considered, so please do not apply if you do not fulfill any of the listed criteria.
- Must have personal transportation in the form of a private vehicle for commuting to and from work (public transport or ride-sharing services are not acceptable). This is a strict requirement with no exceptions.
- Must be under the age of 30.
- Must have a clean criminal record and be willing to provide a police clearance upon request.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a 4 or 5-star property is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in any food and beverage department is necessary.
- Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel) is required.
- Experience with third-party booking platforms (such as Booking.com, Expedia) is essential.
- Familiarity with any POS systems (Nightsbridge, Opera, Littlehotelier, etc.) is preferred.
- Must be willing to work shifts.
- Availability to work on weekends is required.
- Candidates must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment polygraph test if selected.
- Candidates must have sober habits.
- Non-smokers only.
- Proficiency in German will be a significant advantage.
The position involves a range of responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as Deputy General Manager on alternate weekends, managing the overall operations of the property in the General Manager's absence.
- Managing inventory across all departments.
- Performing room inspections prior to guest arrivals and following their departures.
- Delivering outstanding guest service and addressing guest requests.
- Supervising breakfast and dinner services, including meal preparation when necessary.
- Overseeing staff operations and responsibilities during assigned shifts (morning or evening).
- Processing guest payments and reconciling accounts using the POS system.
- Managing reservations and facilitating guest check-ins and departures.
- Effectively capturing and resolving guest complaints whenever possible.
- Compiling and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the General Manager.
While these duties represent the primary responsibilities, the ideal candidate must demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to assist in any department as required.
The selected individual will primarily work a shift from 14:00 to 22:00, with occasional shifts from 06:00 to 14:00. On alternate weekends, the working hours will be from 07:00 to 16:00, with every other weekend off. The candidate will assume full responsibility for all outlined tasks during any shift and will oversee the entire hotel operations during their working weekends. There will be 6-8 days off each month.. Candidates who are unable to work the specified shifts or hours will not be considered.
Compensation will be competitive with market standards and will include limited benefits, such as allowances for fuel, phone usage, and night shifts.
