About the Role
This position supports the administration and ongoing development of the EduDecide Tutoring System and related educational technology projects. The successful contractor will assist with daily administration while gradually taking on more technical responsibilities as the business grows.
This opportunity is ideal for a motivated university student or recent graduate who wants practical experience in administration, software systems, databases, website development, and workflow automation.
Current Responsibilities
- Capture tutoring session details accurately in the EduDecide Tutoring System.
- Update lesson records and related administrative information.
- Perform general administrative duties as assigned.
- Assist with basic bookkeeping and financial record keeping.
- Maintain accurate digital records and documentation.
Future Responsibilities
As the business expands, the contractor may become involved in:
- Website development and maintenance.
- Automation of FindMyUniv reports using n8n.
- Workflow automation and business process improvements.
- Database administration and data quality improvements.
- Testing new software features.
- Additional administrative and technology-related projects.
Minimum Requirements
- Native Afrikaans speaker.
- Preferably resides in or near Somerset West.
- Own laptop.
- Reliable internet connection.
- Good computer literacy.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Honest, dependable, and willing to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong second-year or third-year Bachelor's student in Computer Science or a related field is encouraged to apply.
- Recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is also welcome.
- Experience with databases, website development, or workflow automation is advantageous but not essential.
- Basic bookkeeping knowledge will be beneficial.
- Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
Training
The successful applicant must be available for approximately 3 hours of in-person training during August 2026 in Somerset West.
