The main objective of the position is to ensure to perform efficient and high standard maintenance as laid out in the SACAA CATS and CARS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, overhaul or modify aircraft/engines/components in accordance with Aircraft/Engine/Component maintenance manuals.
- Updating and maintaining aircraft documentation and maintenance programs.
- Acting and performing the functions of inspector.
- Acting and performing the functions of release to service and certificate of airworthiness.
- In charge of a group of Airframe personnel appointed to the task.
- Senior AME's 1st to act as Inspectors.
- Senior AME's 1st alternate to chief inspector only to act during absence of chief inspector.
- Appoints AME responsible for carrying out maintenance task/inspector functions.
- Control and guidance of fellow junior staff.
- Update maintenance records on the Corridor system.
- Assist with the job closure process.
- Update and maintain work packs.
- Assisting with technical expertise for the quoting process.
- Managing overtime requirements.
- Meeting delivery target dates.
- After maintenance on aircraft/components/engine to present the completed work pack. CRMA/CRS and logbooks with entries to the departmental planner and supervisor for verification and certification.
- Control of personal tools and equipment.
- Control of aircraft tools and equipment.
- Control of aircraft parts and consumables.
- Control of spare parts and provisioning of min stock requirements.
- Ensure that they are aware of and adhere to our management system.
- Dual inspecting their area of work etc.
- Controlling, carry out follow-ups and liaise with subcontractors.
- Ensuring their work area is always kept clean.
- Ensure ground support equipment is clean and serviceable.
- Participate in internal cross-departmental audits and audits carried out internally by external 3rd party auditors.
- Participate in the maintenance planning process where applicable in support of incoming work requirement and defect rectification to ensure continuous communication with Commercial dept/Planners.
- Input into other functions (other employee daily duties and responsibilities) will be as per Maintenance Management System requirements.
- Complete/book labour time daily.
