Job Overview:
Our client, a fast-growing nutraceutical manufacturer and wholesaler, is seeking a skilled Financial Controller to oversee their financial operations. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and make a significant impact on the company’s success.
As the Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial transactions within the company’s ERP system. You’ll also be responsible for coaching and managing finance team members while directly handling key financial processes.
Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial records within the ERP system.
- Oversee the finance team, reviewing and coaching clerks across various financial functions.
- Process core financial transactions, including payroll, general ledger entries, forex reconciliations, and fixed assets.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Manage cash flow, forecasting, and liquidity to meet the company’s financial obligations.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards.
- Develop and implement financial controls and systems.
- Provide financial analysis and insights for strategic decision-making.
- Oversee external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (SAIPA qualification preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial controlling, preferably in manufacturing or wholesale.
- Strong ERP processing skills and experience in financial software essential (SAGE preferred).
- Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local/international tax regulations.
- Experience in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or FMCG sectors is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving and cost-saving initiatives.
- Leadership skills with a commitment to developing team members.
