Job description
We are looking for a qualified Red Seal Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, assembling, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment and machinery, while ensuring that all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities
- Fit, assemble, install, and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Ensure all work is completed according to safety standards and company procedures
- Assist with breakdowns and minimize downtime
- Work closely with the maintenance and production teams
- Keep accurate maintenance and repair records
Minimum requirements
- Red Seal Trade Certificate as a Fitter
- Proven experience as a fitter in a maintenance or production environment
- Good mechanical fault-finding ability
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of workshop tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work overtime or shifts if required
Advantageous
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or processing environment
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
- Basic welding or fabrication experience
- Valid driver's license
