Parts Incorporated Africa is looking for an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our team in Riverhorse. This role is responsible for supporting the Warehouse Manager in overseeing all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, stock control, security, maintenance, administration, and the management of staff and Team Leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day management of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and stock distribution.
- Support the implementation of stock control policies, monitor stock counts, investigate variances and shortages, and implement controls to minimise stock losses and theft.
- Ensure inbound shipments are received, checked, allocated, and distributed to branches within prescribed turnaround times.
- Oversee returned stock processes, including Returns for Credit (RFCs) and supplier returns.
- Monitor warehouse performance, address operational issues, and ensure lead times and service levels are achieved.
- Assist with staff scheduling, leave planning, training, development, performance management, and discipline.
- Supervise drivers, vehicle maintenance, and distribution routes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, BSOPs, Gemba Board requirements, Health & Safety regulations, and all relevant labour legislation.
- Support the achievement of warehouse objectives through effective planning, reporting, process improvement, and team leadership.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Tertiary qualification in Warehouse Management or Logistics (advantageous).
- Minimum of 5 years' warehouse experience within the automotive industry.
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager is essential.
- Sound knowledge of warehouse and logistics operations with a hands-on management style.
- Good understanding of relevant legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Employment Equity Act.
- Computer literate.
- Clear criminal record.
