Payroll/HR Administrator
Purpose of the role
To ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective support of HR administrative functions. This role contributes to employee satisfaction by maintaining precise payroll records and providing responsive service to payroll-related queries.
Reports To
HR Manager
Key Responsibilities
-Collect and verify payroll information.
-Process payroll input and ensure accuracy of earnings, deductions, benefits, and statutory contributions.
-Extract payroll reports and deliverables for management and finance teams.
-Perform ad hoc payroll tasks as assigned.
-Capture and maintain employee payroll information, including new hires, terminations, and salary changes.
-Reconcile payroll before finalization and ensure all reports are accurate.
-Submit and manage statutory returns (PAYE, UIF, SDL) in compliance with legislation.
-Maintain employee records and ensure proper documentation and filing (digital and hard copy).
-Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
-Assist with HR and payroll audits as and when required.
-Assist with HR related tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
-Diploma or Degree in Human Resources.
-Payroll related qualification.
Required Experience (preferred skills)
-Minimum of 2 payroll and HR experience, inclusive of processing experience (experience working on payroll system (essential).
-Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislative requirements.
-Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation.
-Strong knowledge of payroll processes and South African payroll legislation.
-Experience in processing monthly statutory payroll requirements (submission of statutory returns (PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201 and EMP501).
