About the role
Shopfrunt is looking for a proactive, organised, and hands-on Fabrication Operations Coordinator to support our production, workshop, procurement, and project teams.
This is not a purely office based role. The right person will be involved in the day to day movement of materials, supplier follow-ups, collections, deliveries, workshop support, and general coordination to help keep builds moving smoothly.
The role sits between the office, workshop, suppliers, and site. You will help make sure the right materials are sourced, ordered, collected, prepared, and delivered where they need to be, so that projects can be completed on time and without unnecessary delays.
This position is ideal for someone who is practical, reliable, detail-driven, and enjoys being involved in the action.
Key Responsibilities:
- Put together bills of materials for projects.
- Source materials from different suppliers and assist with getting the best pricing and quotes.
- Help compare supplier quotes and pricing.
- Follow up with suppliers on orders, lead times, collections, and deliveries.
- Collect and deliver materials between suppliers, the workshop, and job sites.
- Support the production team by helping prepare, organise, and track materials needed for fabrication.
- Assist project managers with keeping builds running smoothly and on schedule.
- Keep job folders, material lists, supplier quotes, and project information organised.
- Help keep track of workshop stock and commonly used materials.
- Work between the office, workshop, suppliers, and site when required.
- Assist with general coordination to make sure materials and information are where they need to be.
Requirements:
- Matric.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in admin, coordination, production, workshop, or a similar hands-on environment.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Able to listen carefully and follow instructions accurately.
- Basic computer skills, including email and online supplier searches.
- Comfortable working in both office and workshop environments.
- Willing to travel between suppliers, workshop, and job sites.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Own reliable transport.
- Friendly, reliable, and easy to work with.
- Able to work under pressure and keep things moving.
