Job Purpose
To support delivery operations during night-shift activities and provide assistance during overtime DC deliveries. The Night Shift Driver Assistant will accompany drivers when required and perform general warehouse, loading, unloading, and support functions as part of the normal night-shift operation.
Key Responsibilities
Overtime Relief Delivery Support
- Accompany the Night Shift Driver to relieve day-shift delivery teams when overtime deliveries occur.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods at customer and distribution locations.
- Support delivery activities to ensure efficient route completion.
- Assist with vehicle checks and securing of cargo.
- Ensure delivery documentation is correctly handled and signed where required.
Night Shift Operations
When not required for overtime-relief duties:
- Warehouse management to decide
Health and Safety
- Adhere to all company safety procedures.
- Follow proper manual handling practices.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Report safety concerns, damages, or incidents immediately.
Team Support
- Work collaboratively with drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors.
- Assist in meeting operational and delivery targets.
- Provide flexible support across night-shift operations as directed by management.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric preferred.
- Previous warehouse, logistics, or delivery assistant experience advantageous.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving goods safely.
- Ability to work permanent night shifts.
- Good communication skills.
- Dependable and team oriented.
Working Hours
- Night Shift: 17:00 – 05:00 (or as determined by operational requirements).
- Must be available to accompany overtime-relief delivery operations when required.
