We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee the full payroll function. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and compliant payroll processing, statutory submissions, reconciliations, payments and reporting, while maintaining high standards of service delivery and client satisfaction.
What you'll do:

Manage the full payroll function for client payrolls, including South African and foreign payrolls where applicable.

Review payroll input, preparation and outputs before submission for management or client approval.

Ensure payroll payments are processed accurately and by agreed monthly deadlines.

Prepare, reconcile and submit monthly third-party payments and provide reconciliation feedback to management or clients.

Prepare and submit PAYE bi-annual returns and reconciliations to SARS through eFiling / EasyFile, where applicable.

Issue IRP5 documentation and support statutory payroll reporting requirements.

Reconcile salary-related accounts, payroll accounts and salary bank accounts in line with agreed deadlines.

Maintain accuracy, completeness and integrity of payroll system information through regular checks and audits.

Implement and maintain payroll policies, procedures, controls, file audits and compliance standards.

Respond to payroll queries, escalations and client service issues with clear guidance and prompt resolution.

Build productive client relationships and act as a key point of contact for payroll service delivery matters.

Manage payroll team outputs, productivity, workflow, priorities and quality standards
Your Expertise:
-
5 to 7 years of payroll experience, including payroll review, reconciliation, statutory submissions and payroll service delivery.

Experience managing payroll operations, team output, payroll workflow, productivity and quality standards.

Experience with PAYE, IRP5, EasyFile, payroll tax reconciliations and payroll audit requirements.

Working knowledge of South African payroll legislation, including BCEA, Employment Equity, SDL, Income Tax, COIDA and related requirements.

Experience managing client payroll queries, escalations, service communications and payroll-related client relationships.

Advanced computer literacy, including MS Office, Excel and payroll systems; VIP or similar payroll system exposure is advantageous.

Experience supporting local and international payrolls is advantageous
Qualifications:

Qualification Essential

Grade 12
-
Relevant payroll, finance, accounting, business or HR-related qualification, or equivalent practical payroll management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Payroll Administration or finance qualification. VIP / payroll system courses, payroll tax training, HR Management studies or additional statutory payroll compliance training are advantageous.
