8.1 Role Purpose
The Data Science / Research AI Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing the data science, research intelligence and AI components of the Planning Atlas.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the Research AI Database Engine, which must support research discovery, retrieval and AI-assisted research capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in:
- Data Science;
- Computer Science;
- Artificial Intelligence;
- Statistics;
- Mathematics;
- Information Systems;
- Machine Learning; or
- related discipline.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in data science, analytics, AI, machine learning or related fields.
- Demonstrable experience implementing data-driven applications.
- Experience with AI/LLM technologies will be advantageous.
- Experience working with research databases will be advantageous.

- Design the Research AI database architecture.
- Develop research metadata structures.

- Implement source/reference traceability.
- Develop analytical models.
- Support trend analysis.
- Support scenario and what-if modelling.
