If you’re able to woo us with your words, we are looking for an experienced copywriter to join our dynamic marketing team. You have the power to conceptualise, craft and submit all types of content for both online marketing and advertising purposes, on point to the company’s marketing strategies. The middle-weight copywriter must be mindful of the marketing strategy, brand voice, tone and switch between various personas, as well as have the ability to write for any medium and in any length (long and short form).
Job Duties:
Content Creation
-
Working closely with the Head of Marketing and Head of Creative to ensure the company’s message and developments are communicated timeously.

Working closely with the Marketing team to create content calendars; analysing what is going on in the market and coming up with game-changing strategies to get more engagement and increase leads.

Researching and leveraging market research, insights, internal thought leaders input and relevant topical articles to create effective content and to drive content production across all platforms.

Understanding of brand identity and vision in order to ensure that the appropriate ‘voice’ is applied consistently.
Creative Excellence

Write, edit and proofread content for all brief requests. Ensure all copy is engaging, clear, concise and accurate.

Advise on copywriting best practices across all advertising platforms and other mediums, keeping abreast of changing content consumption behaviour and online best practice.

Remain cognisant of tone and voice of segmented audiences, acting as consumers’ representative when it comes to written communication.

Conceptualising, articulating, and assisting with creative ideas.
-
Take briefings and liaise throughout projects with internal and other stakeholders. Secure appropriate sign-offs of own copy for technical accuracy from internal specialists as needed.

Contribution to and ownership of communication strategies.

Contribution to user experience and journey mapping.
Quality Control

Flawless written English grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation etc.

Proofreading and editing of all content for marketing/advertising purposes to ensure that the correct marketing message is being communicated to our target audience in a well-structured and easy to read format and the brand voice is consistent and correct.
Teamwork/Accountability

Meet weekly, monthly, campaign and special creative project deadlines.

Ensuring assigned tasks have been completed in the agreed timeframe

Two+ years of work experience as a (mid) copywriter
- A qualification in creative writing, journalism, marketing, English, or similarly related field

Strong portfolio of past (award-winning would be great) work; please submit this portfolio with your application.

Good understanding of all marketing and communication functions

Know the importance of brand awareness and thought leadership

Good understanding of social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, other) is crucial

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Experience publishing content to various online editorial platforms.

WordPress experience preferable.

Zoho Social experience preferable.

Good understanding of SEO.

Google Ads, keyword research and Google Analytics experience is an advantage.

A high level of interest or experience in IT, technology and other related products and sectors is an advantage.
