Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Inflatable Boat Tube Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, glue, welding and finishing of inflatable boat tubes to a high standard of quality and durability.
This is a hands-on manufacturing position requiring good attention to detail, practical skills and the ability to work accurately from drawings, measurements and production specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Fabricate inflatable boat tubes using approved materials and manufacturing techniques.
* Cut, measure and prepare fabric and tube components accurately according to production drawings and specifications.
* Operate hot-air, hot-wedge and/or other appropriate welding equipment.
* Weld seams, joins, baffles, cones, handles, patches and other tube components.
* Assemble and install tube fittings, valves, handles, lifting points, rubbing strakes and accessories.
* Ensure all welds and bonded areas meet required strength and quality standards.
* Inspect completed tubes for correct dimensions, alignment, appearance and workmanship.
* Conduct pressure testing and identify leaks or defects.
* Repair and rework tubes where required.
* Maintain accurate measurements and ensure consistency between production units.
* Follow all production procedures, quality-control requirements and workplace safety standards.
* Work closely with the production and boat-building teams to ensure tubes are completed according to production schedules.
* Assist with the development and improvement of tube fabrication processes where required.
Requirements
* Previous experience in inflatable boat, PVC/Hypalon/CSM fabrication, tent manufacturing, canvas work, upholstery, plastics or similar manufacturing would be advantageous.
* Experience using heat-welding equipment is highly beneficial.
* Ability to work accurately with measurements, patterns and templates.
* Good hand skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work with knives, cutting tools, heat-welding equipment and other workshop machinery safely.
* Able to read and understand basic drawings and production instructions.
* Good physical fitness, as the role involves handling large and heavy tube sections.
* Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
* Previous inflatable boat tube fabrication experience will be considered a significant advantage.

Training & Development
Training will be provided on the company's specific tube construction methods, materials, welding equipment, production standards and quality-control procedures.
Candidates with strong practical skills but limited inflatable boat experience may be considered, provided they demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn.
Working Environment
The position is based in an inflatable boat manufacturing facility and involves standing for extended periods, handling large fabric sections and working with heat-welding equipment and workshop machinery.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a hands-on production environment and maintaining a high level of accuracy while working to production deadlines.
Pay: R4 501,16 - R18 000,00 per month
