Coral Communications is looking for a proactive, organised and confident Business Development Assistant to support our new business development function.
The successful candidate will assist with prospecting, lead generation and outreach to potential clients, with the goal of helping the business development team secure meetings and build a strong pipeline of new opportunities.
This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable reaching out to new people, enjoys research, communicates professionally and has an interest in public relations, marketing and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential clients across relevant industries.
- Build and update prospect lists and lead databases.
- Conduct cold outreach via email, telephone and LinkedIn.
- Assist in securing introductory meetings for the business development team.
- Draft professional outreach messages, follow-up emails and LinkedIn communication.
- Track outreach activity, responses and meeting outcomes.
- Update CRM systems, lead trackers and prospecting records.
- Conduct company, industry and market research to support outreach.
- Prepare basic background notes before business development meetings.
- Support the business development team with follow-ups and administrative tasks.
Requirements
- A qualification or background in public relations, marketing, communications, sales, business development or a related field is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence in conducting cold outreach by phone, email and LinkedIn.
- Good research and organisational skills.
- Ability to build accurate and relevant lead lists.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and follow a structured process.
- Comfortable working towards targets and deadlines.
- Experience in lead generation, sales support, client outreach or business development will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with CRM systems will be an advantage.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is confident, persistent, professional and eager to learn. They should be comfortable with cold outreach, able to handle rejection professionally and motivated by helping the team create new business opportunities. In this role, you will earn a basic salary + uncapped commission for all meetings successfully booked.
Pay: From R5 000,00 per month
