About the Role
We are looking for a technically strong Audit Senior to join our UK Audit team. Working remotely from South Africa, you'll manage audit and accounts assignments for a varied portfolio of UK clients, partnering closely with UK Managers and Partners.
This role is ideal for a recently qualified CA(SA) or someone with up to three years' post-qualification experience who enjoys taking ownership, building client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Audit
- Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion.
- Prepare and review audit working papers in accordance with ISA.
- Identify audit risks and perform appropriate audit procedures.
- Complete audit files to a high technical standard.
- Prepare audit reports, management letters and completion documentation.
- Deliver work within agreed budgets and deadlines.
Accounts & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements under FRS 102.
- Prepare year-end accounts for UK entities.
- Review trial balances, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Assist with group consolidations where required.
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and the Companies Act.
Client Management
- Build strong relationships with UK clients.
- Act as the day-to-day contact throughout engagements.
- Attend virtual client meetings and resolve queries professionally.
- Deliver an outstanding client experience.
Team & Collaboration
- Review the work of junior team members and provide coaching.
- Work closely with UK Managers and Partners across multiple engagements.
- Share technical knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Qualified CA(SA).
- Completed SAICA Articles.
- 1–3 years' post-qualification audit experience within a public practice.
- Experience managing audit assignments from planning to completion.
- Strong knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
- Excellent financial reporting knowledge.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote environment.
Desirable
- Exposure to UK clients or UK accounting standards.
- Experience preparing financial statements under FRS 102.
- Experience with Inflo, CCH, Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage or similar software.
- Previous experience working remotely for an international accounting practice.
- Experience reviewing junior staff and mentoring trainees.
