Position: Canteen Operator
Location: Southern Suburbs, Tokai
We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Canteen Operator to support the day-to-day running of the canteen. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving food, processing daily customer purchases, and assisting with general operational duties. In addition, the role requires someone who can contribute ideas to improve offerings, enhance customer experience, and support the overall efficiency of canteen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food and beverages in line with hygiene and quality standards
- Assist with daily canteen operations, including opening, closing, and general setup/pack-down
- Handle customer purchases, including processing cash and/or card transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, serving areas, and storage spaces
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and receiving of supplies
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations at all times
- Support menu planning and contribute ideas for new or improved food offerings
- Assist in managing daily inventory and reducing food waste
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to all staff and visitors
- Report maintenance issues, stock shortages, or operational concerns to management
- Assist with ad hoc operational tasks as required to ensure smooth canteen functioning
