Position: Junior Quantity Surveyor (Building)

Project Type: Contract Based (Project completes in April/May 2027)
Scope of Work:
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our Building Division. The successful candidate will be based on our live project at Constitutional Hill in Braamfontein and will work under the guidance of one of our Senior Quantity Surveyors, who oversees multiple projects.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience on a significant heritage redevelopment project while receiving mentorship from experienced construction professionals.
Minimum Requirements
National Diploma or BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying
1–4 years’ post-graduate experience
Experience on building construction projects
Good understanding of JBCC contracts
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
CCS Candy experience will be advantageous
Build Smart experience will be advantageous
Valid driver’s licence
Willingness to travel between project sites when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with monthly valuations and payment certificates.
Measure work completed and prepare quantity take-offs.
Assist with procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare comparison schedules and analyse quotations.
Assist with subcontractor payment certificates.
Monitor project costs and prepare cost reports.
Assist in preparing variation orders and claims.
Track site instructions and contractual correspondence.
Maintain commercial records and filing systems.
Attend site meetings and progress meetings.
Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor with day-to-day commercial management.
