This historic wine estate in the helderberg offers a number of food and beverage facilities, including an a la carte terrace restaurant, bistro and deli, retail outlet, picnics, on-site and off-site catering, wedding and formal function events and unique afternoon tea service.
ProStaffSelect are in search of a Sous Chef with experience in restaurants, wine estates and fine dining cuisine standards to handle both Hot & Cold production for this high profile catering production kitchen. Please not that this IS NOT a BUFFET MENU PRODUCTION KITCHEN.
Due to the various catering locations and assistance needed with transporting items on and off the estate, it is ESSENTIAL that candidates carry a valid drivers license to qualify for this position.
Additional requirements:
Minimum 2 or 3 year recognized professional / formal culinary qualification.
Culinary strengths in Hot and Cold production.
A VERY STRONG personality is needed to handle the fast pace and demands of this kitchen
Confident in delegating prep duties to junior staff.
Effective communication skills and proficient in English AND Afrikaans with an outgoing and friendly personality.
Must be comfortable to innovate new dishes daily according to ingredients available and THINK ON YOUR FEET with little time to waste.
High culinary standards with attention to detail specifically with food hygiene, plating components and innovating garnishing ideas.
OWN TRANSPORT with valid drivers license is essential!
