This role is critical in maintaining plant efficiency, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting operational excellence across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor boiler systems to ensure continuous steam supply
- Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and fault-finding on equipment
- Perform plant cleaning, housekeeping, and ensure safe equipment usage
- Take and analyse samples, record data, and log operational events
- Implement corrective actions to maintain plant performance and reliability
- Communicate effectively with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams
- Adhere to SHEQ standards, environmental requirements, and policies
- Support continuous improvement and cost-efficiency initiatives
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating coal-fired boilers
- Strong understanding of boiler operations and process control
- Ability to monitor, analyse and respond to plant conditions
Advantageous
- N3 in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation
- Experience with job card systems (2+ years)
- Knowledge of ISO standards, OHSA, and fluidised bed combustion systems
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, ERP systems)
