General Manager (GM) – Future Managing Director
Elgin, Western Cape | Full-time | ±R50,000 per month + Performance Bonus
Lothian Vineyards is one of South Africa’s most awarded boutique wine estates. We produce world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from just 14 hectares, with an exciting opportunity to grow our international distribution and premium wine brands.
We’re looking for a commercially minded, self-motivated General Manager to help lead every aspect of the business, with a genuine opportunity to progress to Managing Director.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overall day-to-day management of the estate.
- Managing customer orders, bottling schedules, labels and logistics.
- Growing local and international wine sales.
- Building relationships with distributors and customers.
- Managing staff, suppliers and daily operations.
- Preparing management accounts, monitoring cash flow and reporting business performance to the owners.
- Overseeing stock, budgeting and financial controls.
- Managing Lothian House holiday rentals.
- Representing Lothian at international trade shows, including Wine Paris and ProWein.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong commercial and management experience (wine industry experience preferred).
- Is highly organised, financially disciplined and trustworthy.
- Can lead people while remaining hands-on.
- Takes initiative and solves problems without constant supervision.
- Enjoys building businesses and delivering results.
- Is willing to travel internationally.
