MSc STUDENT BURSARY: ORBIVIRUS RESEARCH

Job Details

Part-time

Conduct research on Orbivirus genetics, with special emphasis on Third Generation Sequencing of African Horse Sickness Virus genomes.
Provide research support to Arbovirus research projects as the affiliated postgraduate student.
Engage with relevant stakeholders within affiliated research projects.
Disseminate project results through peer-reviewed and popular publications, as well as presentations at conferences.
Collect, process and interpret data, and make internal project recommendations.

BSc (Hons) in Molecular biology Microbiology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biochemistry or similar fields.
Applicants should be highly motivated graduates with a strong academic background in Molecular Biology.
Bioinformatics experience would be an added advantage.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
A valid driver’s license (code 08/EB) would be an added advantage.
