Health & Safety Officer (Part-Time) – Gardening Services
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent qualification (Mandatory)
- Valid SAMTRAC Certificate (Mandatory)
- HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) training
- Incident Investigation training
- Legal Liability training
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
- Minimum 2 years’ Health & Safety experience in construction, infrastructure, vegetation management, industrial or related environments
- Experience compiling and maintaining SHE files
- Experience conducting site inspections, risk assessments and safety audits
- Good report writing and communication skills
- Valid South African driver’s licence will be an advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the project Health & Safety Management System
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments
- Facilitate toolbox talks and safety inductions
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and client requirements
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Maintain SHE files, registers and statutory appointments
- Monitor contractor compliance and environmental requirements
- Prepare weekly and monthly SHE reports
