Role Summary:
Entry-level hands-on technical support. Perform diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and setups of PC’s.
Focus on customer service; meet and greet (be presentable at all times)
Internal hardware support aligned with CSSI product range.
Manage all Internal Staff PC and Network requirements, including printers, and maintain all up and online at all times, and check paper, toners, and print use
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and upgrade laptops, notebooks, and desktops (hardware replacement: HDDs/SSDs, RAM, screens, batteries, etc.).
- Basic setup and configuration of storage units, including entry-level QNAP NAS and similar systems (drive installation, initial QTS setup, basic shares/users).
- Assist with inventory, testing inventory products, testing equipment and IT components, and preparation of products for sales.
- Assist sales with any basic Q&A on our WhatsApp group.
- Manage first-level support on emails from clients via the support email. ([email protected] requests, tickets, basic troubleshooting of Windows/macOS, printers, simple connectivity, and client device setups).
- Do RMA and testing RMA (on CRM’s as tracked on Synergy-5) for customers.
- Quality check products clients get match descriptions and all components inside the box as quality assurance sign-off. (Triple-check system on invoices).
- Have excellent knowledge of all types of Hard Drives (HDD), SSDs, external storage, basic networking devices, cables/adapters, and how they connect.
- Assist senior staff with data recovery intake, basic media handling (non-cleanroom), and packaging.
- Maintain accurate work logs, follow Synergy daily tasks requirements, and follow ISO/quality procedures.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent AND an IT-related certificate/diploma advantageous, such as A+, N+ or higher.
- 2 years relevant experience (internships, PC building, or retail tech support accepted).
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, Windows OS, and common peripherals.
- Willingness to learn CSSI product range and Storage basics.
- Valid driver’s licence preferred; own transport advantageous.
- Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
Skills & Learning Benchmarks
- CompTIA A+ (or equivalent hardware knowledge) within first 6–12 months.
- Basic QNAP Qfinder/QTS familiarisation / Infortrend Product Certification and pass internal tests.
- Safe handling of storage media and ESD practices.
- Support email handling within 30 minutes of request / (If deployed ticket system and basic documentation proficiency).
Salary Range (Monthly CTC)
R12,000 – R18,000 + Perks and Benefits
