About us
Joma is a global sportswear brand covering football, trail, padel, tennis, running, netball and lifestyle. We're still early stage in South Africa, which means there isn't a stack of approvals between you and the work — what you make actually goes out.
The role
We need a design intern based in Paarl who's genuinely into the details — the kind of person who clocks a slightly-off layout before anyone else does. You'll work inside the marketing team on stuff that goes live: social posts, store visuals, Shopify content, shoot support. Not university briefs, not busywork.
What you'll be doing
- Designing social assets, flyers, posters and digital ads
- Helping run our Shopify store (product uploads, image formatting, content updates)
- Keeping our visual identity consistent across everything we put out
- Organising and maintaining our brand asset library
What we need from you
- Comfortable in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or Canva
- A good eye for clean, sport-driven design
- You notice typos and misaligned elements — and they bother you
- Proactive, and fine working in a small team where things move fast
- Based in Paarl or able to commute reliably
- Valid driver's licence
Nice to have
- Studying graphic design, visual communication, marketing or similar
- You actually follow sportswear/streetwear/lifestyle brands and have opinions on them
- Shopify or ecommerce experience
- Some photography or video editing chops
