As part of SanlamConnect, Succession Financial Planning (SFP) is a financial services provider with a focus on the Registered Financial Adviser (RFA), looking to grow a professional practice while offering holistic financial planning to their clients. SFP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sanlam Group.
Output/Core Tasks:
1. Financial support to business, including a national team of regional managers and broker consultants
2. Assist the SFP Financial Manager with financial matters, including
a. Understanding cost centre structure and chart of accounts
b. Assisting with the budgeting process
c. Reporting actual versus budget on a monthly basis
d. Preparing and posting journal entries
e. Assist in preparation of trial balance and management financial statements
f. Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
g. Ad hoc financial tasks
h. Accounting processing (cash book journals and making out invoices)
i. Payroll processes
3. Identifying opportunities to streamline existing processes as the business expands
4. Reporting on day-to-day financial measures, including database extraction and report generation
5. General financial assignments
What will make you successful in this role?
Qualification & experience
- Matric (with maths and/or accounting)
- Diploma in Accounting or relevant qualification
- Previous experience in a similar role for at least 2 years
- Pastel payroll experience
Knowledge and skills
- Good computer skills – primarily Excel
- Experience with data extraction and manipulation
- Knowledge of pastel would be helpful
- The ability to learn quickly and think “outside the box”
