WE ARE HIRING – HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER
SM Family Group is seeking a qualified and proactive Health & Safety Officer to join our team in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Officer.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant health and safety regulations.
- Valid Health & Safety Officer qualification.
- First Aid Level 1 certificate (advantageous).
- Fire Fighting certificate (advantageous).
- Risk Assessment training (advantageous).
- Incident Investigation training (advantageous).
- Valid South African driver’s licence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong report-writing, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel to client sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments.
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation.
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks.
- Maintain health and safety records and documentation.
- Prepare client-specific Health & Safety Files.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all company operations.
