While we currently do not offer SAIPA articles, we offer a hands-on mentorship environment where you will work directly alongside a Professional Accountant (SA) and an experienced Accountant. This role is specifically designed for someone who wants to master bookkeeping fundamentals and rapidly grow into a well-rounded accountant.
The Role & What You Will Learn
You will initially assist our Senior Accountant with daily processing, data management, and statutory administration. As you demonstrate competence, your responsibilities will expand into management accounts and financial statement preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily processing and bank reconciliations on Xero.
- Capturing, scanning, and managing source documents via Dext/Hubdoc.
- Processing monthly payroll on SimplePay and assisting with EMP201 submissions.
- Handling monthly UIF registrations and Department of Labour submissions.
- Preparing draft VAT201 returns for review.
- Assisting with CIPC annual returns, beneficial ownership submissions, and director changes.
- Providing basic administrative support to the team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: A completed or near-completed (e.g., final module remaining) BCom Degree, Advanced Diploma, or National Diploma in Financial Accounting.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of practical bookkeeping or accounting clerk experience (preferably within an accounting firm/practice environment).
- Technical Skills: Fundamental working knowledge of Xero Accounting software is highly advantageous.
- Core Skills: A rock-solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, debit/credit principles, and the accrual concept.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong communication skills for client enquiries, and a proactive attitude toward learning.
