We are looking to employ a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Dispatch Co-Ordinator to support the daily operations of our busy Dispatch Department. This candidate should be multi-skilled and have strong ability to handle the co-ordination between the workflow of orders to be dispatched timeously and logistics co-ordination. This candidate should have strong practical experience in being hands-on with managing people, handling transporter queries, handling and solving operational challenges while ensuring service levels are always expectational.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinate daily deliveries with transport providers and internal departments
· Assist with delivery scheduling and route planning
· Monitor transport performance and ensure delivery deadlines are achieved
· Liaise with transport companies regarding collections, deliveries and any service-related issues
· Oversee PODs and ensure documentation is checked and maintained
· Assist in resolving customer delivery queries and logistics-related issues
· Strong understanding of warehouse processes, inventory management and logistics
· Strong reconciliation skills and the ability to work with stock and warehouse documents
· Ensure customer orders are dispatched accurately and completed as per SOPs
· Supervise and support dispatch staff, checkers and loaders
· Monitor picking, checking, staging and loading activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency
· Thoroughly inspecting stock for any damages and discrepancies part of the dispatch process
· Responsible for written reporting and manage operational efficiencies at all times
· Signing for shipments upon receipt and verifying that the correct stock has been received/dispatched
· Using forklifts, high/low level order pickers and reach trucks to unload, move, stack, store and or pick stock accordingly
· Ensure proper recording of tasks and aid with department audits
· Managing on time and in full KPI
· Always adhere to the relevant health and safety rules and regulations
· Adhering to policies and procedures - SOPs
· Pro-active to learn and support within the Warehouse
· Carry out counting of inventory as and when required
· Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operation efficiency and good stakeholder engagement
· General Ad-hoc duties
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· 5-10 Years of experience in a Logistics, Distribution Centre or Warehouse in a Senior/Leadership role
· 5-10 Years of direct experience with working in logistics in a high-volume wholesaler
· Grade 12 (Matric Certificate) and Logistics, Supply Chain diploma/degree (advantageous)
· Understand safety legislation/committee affiliation - SABS & SAIOSH
· Proven experience -Logistics Management System (LMS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS)
· Intermediate to Advanced in MS Office 365
· Excellent communication (verbal and written) in English and interpersonal skills
· Strong attention to detail, administrative, operational and system skills
· Innovative approach and customer-focused
· Excellent leadership skills and organising skills to build relations with co-workers
· Excellent problem solver, communicator and customer service skills
· Good decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations
