A well-established South African company, focussing on the braai and outdoor market, currently has an opportunity for a highly driven and experienced Regional Sales Manager to join their team.
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the entire northern region, Key focus will be on growing key customers, building relationships with new customers and overseeing and supporting sales agents in the northern region. The ideal candidate will be able to build strong trusting relationships with strategic customers by identifying the relevant needs and requirements for sustaining and growing the business to achieve long-term success for the company.
Key responsibilities:
- Take part in strategic planning to improve sales
- Driver sales by introducing new products to key customers
- Accompany sales agents on regional visits to customers and stores
- Assist customers with product demos at trade shows, store openings etc.
- Meet with key customers on a regular basis in order to discuss sales, new listings, promotions etc.
- Assisting and resolving all customer and sales agent queries
- Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams
- Monitor the sales performance of the sales agents in the region and take the appropriate action where necessary
- Analyse customer data to provide effective customer relationship management
- Development trusted relationships and maintain current relationships with all key customers
- Submit regular reports on daily/weekly/monthly sales compared to targets
Requirements:
- Matric
- A tertiary qualification in marketing, business administration, sales, or relevant field would be advantageous
- Experience of at least 4-6 years in sales, sales management or key account management in a retail and wholesale environment is non-negotiable
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets and delivering customer solutions
- Must be self-disciplined and driven for results
- Must be able to adapt to an ever-changing sales environment
- Exceptional communication skills
- Computer literate (especially MS Office Suite)
- Strong negotiation skills
- Must display a high level of emotional intelligence
- Be able to analyse sales data and implement the required strategies
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Well-developed management skills
- Driver’s licence and own transport
- Must be willing to travel
A market-related salary structure will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills and experience.
