As a Fibre Laser Cutting Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining fibre laser cutting machines to produce high-quality precision cuts on various steel materials.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Operation: Operate fibre laser cutting machines according to job specifications and safety guidelines.
2. Setup and Programming: Set up machines for specific cutting jobs, including loading materials, selecting appropriate cutting parameters, and programming cutting paths.
3. Material Handling: Handle and prepare materials for cutting, including loading and unloading sheets or parts onto the cutting bed.
4. Quality Control: Monitor cutting processes to ensure quality and accuracy of cuts, making adjustments as necessary to maintain tolerances.
5. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on laser cutting equipment, such as cleaning lenses, replacing consumable parts, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of job orders, machine settings, and production metrics.
7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and protocols at all times
Qualifications & Skills
- 2 years’ operating laser cutting experience.
- Grade 12 imperative
- Further education advantageous
- Attention to detail is imperative.
- Able to work night shifts and rotations.
- Able to interpret technical drawings and cut parts to specifications.
