Job Description
One of our clients – a leading Hospitality Group with its headoffice in Johannesburg Northern Suburbs – seeks a well-experienced Group Sales Manager with proven track record within a similar role in the Hospitality Sector. The role will report directly to the Sales and Marketing Director. 6 staff members will report into this role, namely Senior and Junior Sales Executives, Assistant Sales: Tours and Incentives, Sales Coordinator, Group Reservationist, and Sales Systems coordinator.
Job Purpose: Manage the sales function of the group with a view to increase market share and grow revenue by driving occupancy and average room rate, maintaining a competitive edge, relationship building, brand promotion and continued innovation. Maximise the potential of both the sales team and support staff by crafting achievable and realistic sales plans to meet budgeted performance indicators with the support of the sales team. Handle direct sales and engage in account management duties, and also supervise a team of sales specialists. Focus on account development and growth, and implement plans and strategies to help the group meet objectives.
The job involves the working of long hours as per the requirements of the sales function and the hospitality industry and in accordance with the applicable legislation. You will be required to perform duties outside of regular business hours should the need arise. You will be required to travel for sales business trips. Hybrid option available over time.
Qualifications
Grade 12. Bachelor’s degree/equivalent to an NQF Level 7 (specialist, management or technical).
Skills
Computer literacy is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver’s license. Minimum 5 years sufficient sales/sales management experience, including managing a sales team, Preferably in hospitality or travel industry related environment..
