PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Operations Manager to join the Production Team. To support the Operations Manager in planning, coordinating, and managing all production activities to ensure operational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Provide overall leadership and direction to Production Managers.
- Translate business objectives into operational production plans and measurable targets.
- Ensure production departments consistently achieve agreed output, quality and targets.
- Collaborate with Planning to ensure production plans are realistic and achievable.
- Ensure effective manpower and resource planning.
- Drive continuous improvement across production operations.
- Lead initiatives to reduce waste, rework, downtime and production losses.
- Analyze production trends and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure standard operating procedures are consistently implemented.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or service.
- Lead, coach and develop Production Managers.
- Partner with HR on employee relations, workforce planning, absenteeism.
- Ensure disciplinary and performance management processes are applied consistently and fairly.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company safety standards.
- Resolve cross-functional operational challenges.
- Provide management with accurate and timely operational insights.
- Monitor trends, identify performance gaps and implement improvement actions.
